P-40E-1 41-35927
Kittyhawk IA ET573
This Hawk was built as a Kittyhawk IA for the British under Lend-Lease, receiving the USAAF serial
number 41-35927 in addition to the RAF-assigned serial ET573. She was transferred to the Russians
and lost in action near Murmansk, where she remained until recovered in 1992. (I have yet to fully
research this Hawk's history, so do not know which Soviet outfit she served with.) She was acquired
by Gerald Yagen and restored to airworthy by
Avspecs Limited, first taking flight in 2003. She is
currently part of Yagen's
Military Aviation Museum
located at Virginia Beach Airport, Virginia.
