No Bones

These 89th FS P-40N-1s, photographed at Nagaghuli Airfield,
have not yet been adorned with the 80th FG skull motif.

The NARA caption on the reverse of the photo reads:

"A maintenance crew refuels Curtiss P-40s of the 89th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter
Group at a 10th Air Force base in Upper Assam, India. February 1944."

#61 'Flung Dung'

This P-40N was flown by Lt. Charles G. Whitely, 'C Flight' leader of the 89th FS. I've come
across conflicting info as to this Hawk's serial number, but her plane-in-group number was '61'.

More images and info can be found on THIS PAGE of the Burma Banshees Blog.

Nagaghuli Lineup

Lineup of 89th FS P-40Ns at Nagaghuli Airfield. I've come across conflicting info as to
the date, but this photo was possibly taken in May of 1944. I hope to add a separate page with
close-crops of and additional info for the first photo (and possibly the second) in the future.
