2Lt John Leggett with P-40F #50, named 'Ping Pang II'. On April 16th, 1944, Leggett's
ship was hit by flak during a ground attack run at Monte Cassino. He flew out over the beaches
at Anzio and bailed out. Sadly, he collided with the ship in mid-air and was killed.
