The Gang's All Here

A fine shot of 20th Pursuit Group pilots and a couple civvies with a line of 79th ships as backdrop.

Another view of some 20th PG folks and a few civvies, with ship #15.

P-40 #23

Another view of #23, sans some feathers. She's also been flying from a wet
grass field recently, judging by the mud splatter on the lower rear fuselage.

Warm Hawks

These Hawks of the 79th were snapped while basking in the New Mexican Sun at
Albuquerque Airport in 1940. The ship nearest the camera ia assigned to 'C' flight leader.

P-40E #30

I've tentatively identified this ship as a P-40E, but it may be a P-40D. This Hawk
is assigned to the 79th Pursuit Squadron's 'A flight' leader, as evidenced by the single
vertical stripe wrapped around the aft fuselage. The ship also bears 'wargame' markings
which were used during the Louisiana Maneuvers in August and September of 1941.

Another shot of a P-40D or P-40E of the 79th which also bears the 'A flight'
leader's single vertical fuselage stripe as well as wargame markings, though
I'm not sure that this is the same ship shown in the above photo.
