This ship from the 20th Pursuit Group Headquarters flight had recently been assigned
to the group C.O. when this photo was taken in October of 1940 at McChord Field,
Washington by PFC Robert Eheikey of the 89th Reconnaissance Squadron.

The first three P-40s in this line are from the 20th Pursuit Group's HQ flight.
Photo was taken at Hamilton Field, California and is dated December 11th, 1941,
though I'm not sure if that date is correct.

Air Corps Fly-In

I've no info about this next photo, but it reminds me of a pancake breakfast fly-in!

In the foreground is a ship from the 77th PS, while the first two in the line are from
the 20th PG HQ flight. The next two in line appear to be from the 55th PS, followed by
a few more ships which look to be mostly from the 77th and one last 55th ship.

Ramp Full of Hawks

This photo shows at least one ship from all three squadrons of the 20th.
The P-40 in the foreground, #19, is from the 79th Pursuit Squadron...

Directly behind #19 is a line of Hawks from the 77th Pursuit Squadron. Ship #050 is a P-36...
undoubtedly assigned to the 77th's C.O. as an alternate. When an outfit switched types, the
commanding officer would sometimes arrange to keep their old mount around for a time.

There's also a few more P-36s and what looks to be a pair of O-46s visible in the far background.

Wargamers

The Hawk in the forground appears to be a 77th PS P-40E, while the ship in the immediate
background looks to be a P-40E, or possibly even a P-40D, of the 79th PS.
Both wear temporary 'Blue Force' markings from the Louisiana Maneuvers of 1941.
