Curtiss PW-8

Project 364

Curtiss XPW-8A 23-1203 at McCook Field, 1924. This ship began life as one of three XPW-8s,
was converted to the XPW-8A, then later to the XPW-8B. She was wrecked near McCook in
March of 1925. I hope to add a feature page for this ship at some point in the future.

A closer look at the tail, with the Air Service serial number on the fuselage and
McCook Field 'P' number 'P364' on the rudder. The true meaning of the 'P' eludes
historians to this day, but is widely accepted by many to stand for 'project'.

A good look at the tunnel radiator on the XPW-8A.
