The book caption for the following photo reads:

Chinese Hawk IIIs on the airfield at Lungwa, October 24th, 1936. These Hawks
were constructed in China by the Central Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation
which was set up by Curtiss-Wright and run by Bill Pawley.

These next two shots show a couple'a unidentified pilots with a
Hawk III. By the time these photos were taken it's possible
that the Hawks had been relegated to training duties.
